Helping Children age 6 to 11 to understand and explore the big feelings of anger through rhyme

LOVE IS THE GIFT FIRST PUBLISHED MARCH 2022

Supporting children age 6 to 11 through grief and bereavement

As adults we can help children to understand emotions such as anger and support them in exploring ways to manage it. We create a safe place to talk and discover what is going on, without judgement and maintaining our own calm in the process.

Anger is a very normal and healthy emotion and is usually a response to something that is making us feel unhappy or sad. There are many different reasons why anger can manifest – being treated unjustly, being frightened, not being able to have a voice, or even struggling to understand the world around us.

Here at ‘The School of Villamor Van Vaughan’, you can explore how anger develops for some of the students at the school.

Written in rhyme, the book is a fun way to interact with your child and can help open up discussions about how they relate to the different anger scenarios in the story.

Aimed at children aged 6 to 10
